Ancient Mayan Tun Calendar

There is a Mesoamerican civilization known as the Maya that exists through-out southern Mexico and northern Central America.

According to these Mayans, the age in which we are currently living marks the end of a 500 year long cycle that they call the Trail of Tears.

This cycle began with the Spanish Conquest of the Americas in the sixteenth century and culminated in the perceived destruction of several native civilizations. These included the Maya, as well as the Hopi, Laika and Inca tribes.

To the Spanish conquistadors and the Catholic Church of Rome, who considered their knowledge to be dangerous, the spiritual wisdom of these American medicine men and women was a threat. So, in the late 1500s, the Church established an Office for the Extirpation of Idolatries, the sole purpose of which was to eradicate traditional religious practices in North and South America. As a result, the native shaman priests went into seclusion. Their entire civilization shifted into a higher dimension of consciousness – in mass.

In the year 1987, a succession of planetary alignments occurred, which brought in the energies of the Christ Consciousness. At that time, the cycle of the Trail of Tears came to a completion and a new cycle began, which they call the Harmonic Convergence. In celebration of the arrival of this new cycle, there was a gathering of the indigenous tribal elders, which was held at sacred locations all over the world.

There is an ancient Mayan prophecy, which is called the Thirteen Heavens and Nine Hells. This prophecy states that the start of this new cycle was ‘the point at which the counter-spin of history finally comes to a momentary halt and the still imperceptible spin of post-history commences.’

All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration. We are the ones who we have been waiting for. The Hopi Nation of Oraibi, Arizona

The ancient Maya are a culture that study the long cycles of vibration on the Earth. To do this, they used a 260 day calendar, which they call the Tzolk’in. They also used a very sophisticated holy calendar called the Tun. When both of these calendars are working together, they produce a third calendar – that of the Mayan god Kukulcan and of the Aztec god Quetzalcoatl. It was this Atlantean priest who developed the calendars of the Maya.

Where our traditional Gregorian calendar year results in an error of 3.02 days over the course of 10,000 years, the calculation of the Mayan calendar year results in an error of only 1.98 days over that same number of years.

But the Maya were keeping track of much more than just Time. They were tracking consciousness throughout all of Creation. They were keeping track of a schedule of Creation that began with what science calls the Big Bang.

God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. Genesis 1:4-5

The actual pattern of Creation described by the ancient Mayan Tun calendar consists of nine cycles, or evolutions of consciousness, the first of which began 16.4 billion years ago. These are nine levels of evolution through which the Universe undergoes on its climb to its highest state of consciousness.

Within each of these nine cycles, there are periods when consciousness is in a state of Creation. These periods are represented on the calendar as very long days.

But each cycle also involves an initiation. These are times when consciousness actually experiences its Creation. So these periods are represented as Underworlds, or Hells. They are very long nights.

Ultimately, each cycle moves through six long days and six long nights before coming to rest at the end of a seventh day. This seventh day is represented as a Heaven. So it is a holy day, a resting point, a time of readiness for something new and different.

When all nine cycles have reached the seventh day, the Mayans predict that the frequency of the Earth will then begin to climb to 13 cycles per second. This is the point at which light as we see it moves into the invisible spectrum of God’s holy Light. We need to go through Hell in order to get to Heaven.

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made, and he rested on the seventh day. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy. Genesis 2:2-3

The ability of consciousness to learn, create, evolve and raise its vibration increases exponentially. So each of the nine cycles on the Tun calendar is shorter than the previous cycle. The shorter the cycle, the faster we move through it. These nine cycles are also symbolized through the Maya’s most important pyramids, all of which were built with nine levels. Each of the nine levels in the construction of these pyramids is shorter than the previous level.

Guidance on this path will probably be the greatest contribution of the Calendar of Quetzalcoatl; life gains a higher and deeper meaning and has a purpose. Dr. Carl J. Calleman

The first eight cycles on this Divine calendar are now at rest on the holy seventh day. As measured on our own calendar, we reached the end of the eighth cycle early in 2011(March 9th). According to the Tun calendar, the initiation into that cycle was the formation of a Global Consciousness, one that has been accomplished by way of the World Wide Web.

The cycle we are now moving through is the last of the nine cycles – the Universal Cycle. It is interesting to note that this cycle is exactly 260 days long, the same as the Tzolk’in calendar. With 13 sets of only 20 days each, this 13:20 cycle is the shortest one of all. So, as Time begins to speed up, things will be manifesting incredibly fast during this cycle.

The Maya, Hopi, Laika and Inca tribes all foretell that we are at the end of a long cycle of expansion in consciousness and the beginning of a Golden age. According to the science of Numerology, the number 9 represents ‘completetion.’ According to the Maya, the initiation into this final cycle will be our transformation into Unity Consciousness. And their prophecies state that, when we complete this cycle of transformation, we will forever leave the consciousness of this singular galaxy and become integrated into the consciousness of the Universe.

A human being is part of the whole called by us “Universe,” a part limited in Time and Space. Albert Einstein
